WeDo: Supporting those less fortunate this Christmas

We know that Christmas can be tough for many people, especially during these difficult times. Some of the facts we’ve seen recently really struck a chord with us and we want to do something we can to try and help.

  • 1 in 5 people in Britain are living below the poverty line.  (Trussell Trust)
  • Last year there was 4.2 million children living below the poverty line.  That’s 9 in every class of 30 (https://cpag.org.uk/)
  • Rough sleeping has gone up by 55% in the last 5 years.  (https://www.homeless.org.uk/)

This winter, we want to try and support those in our local community who are struggling. The pandemic has seen numerous people lose their jobs, incomes and homes. People are turning to charities and food banks for support and we want to help.

As a team, we are collecting gifts for children, long-life foods and warm clothing for people and families in the local area. If you want to find out more about what kind of things are most needed, or to join in with our collections, please do get in touch.
