Well 2019 has been an incredible year for WeDo as a business, the team who have joined to make it what it now is and what it is and will become and for our clients who in many different ways we have helped make a difference to them and their businesses.
We may not have been alive and doors open for a year having only got going in September, but 2019 has been a long but enjoyable and fulfilling year. Starting as a seed of an idea, planning, presenting, refining, adding, changing and listening have been themes the business and myself have had to embrace to get through the year.
I’m grateful for some wonderful advice and support from friends, family and advisors along the way and it demonstrates that any journey we undertake can be eased if we allow ourselves to be helped along the way. Don’t get me wrong, hard work is still a prerequisite but allowing those around you to help and support the journey should never be underestimated. Small acts of kindness that are often not even noticed at the time can often lead to great things in the future.
We have helped a number of clients so far, some the start their own journey and we can learn and grow together, others to restructure or redirect their businesses with new support, some to just ease their burden and add a little more value and understanding. Whatever they have needed, we have tried to understand them and help them, listen and add value and in doing so, they help add value to us, in our learning, experience and business growth ambitions.
As a leader I’m trying to work hard to support my team to allow them to do their jobs to the best of their ability, to help them develop and add even more value to our clients but importantly, they are helping me develop. Develop an awareness, understanding and empathy of what is important to them. By putting the team first, we are building foundations to support our clients, in helping our clients we create mutual value for them and for us and this helps us all grow that little bit more.
We are in our infancy still, 2020 is right in front of us and whilst we have lots of opportunities to follow, we have lots of hard work to maintain our own standards, continue to add value to our
customers and ask them to continue to partner with us out of choice not obligation. If we can get that bit right then we will all have a great 2020 and something to really write about at the end of the year!
